My Mission:

I used to write on loose-leaf. And a spiral-bound next.

I filled my notebook. I filled it but it remained closed to the public--I was the only person who read its contents, and eventually, I realized the truth: beauty is useless without people with whom to share it.

I remember the first poem I ever wrote: several years ago, my beloved cat, Charlie, had just died. I paced slowly throughout the house, thinking to myself, "Why am I so sad? And how can I get better?" Before I realized what I was doing, I found words that felt adequate to describe my emotion, and I kept repeating the lines over and over in my head. I found a sheet of loose-leaf paper and a pencil, and slowly, with tears blotting the paper in my lap, I wrote my first poem.

Shortly after, I began to explore different kinds of verse, and reading whatever poems I could get my hands on. Around the same time, I discovered my love of writing fiction as well, and through arduous trial and error, and with the help of several outstanding English teachers, I taught myself how to write.

Eventually I was writing in nearly every spare moment. When I got tired of loose-leaf, I found an old spiral-bound notebook. When I filled that, I bought another, and another, and I suddenly had my epiphany: beauty is useless without people with whom to share it.

That's when I started this blog. This is my new loose-leaf, my shining spiral-bound.

I have short-stories and poems for your reading pleasure, and within the next year I hope to publish my novel, Orphan's Awakening, either through traditional publishing or, more likely, self-publishing.

While this blog is my creative outlet, the content should always be dictated by what you, the readers, want to see. Tell me any suggestions, thoughts, comments, or questions in the box below each work, or on the suggestions page.

Read now and often,
